Troubleshooting: Browser Issues

Our platform performs best with up-to-date browsers -- out-of-date browsers can cause performance issues in our code runners and answer checking systems.

Most issues students experience can be resolved by following the steps below:

  1. Attempt a hard refresh in your browser. This clears your browser's cache and forces it to load the most recent version of that page.
    • Windows/Linux:
      • Hold down Ctrl and press F5.
    • Mac
      • hold down ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift key and then press R.
  2. Clear your cookies and cache with these steps
    • If the information in your browser is outdated, it can cause performance issues with a variety of platforms — clearing your cache and cookies gives your browser a fresh start.
  3. Remove browser extensions with these steps
    • Browser extensions can interact with platforms and cause performance issues. If you have any trouble with this step, you can check out a quick guide here.
  4. Try a different browser
